All We Have is Time.

"All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." - Gandalf

All we have is time. Money can be spent; health can disappear with a single accident or illness; our things will rust away. We have nothing in this life that is permanent. All that we hold dear can be taken away from us quickly and effectively in so many ways. Recent studies say that most Americans are a few pay checks away from the streets. 2008 proved to the world that a few greedy elites can take down entire world economies. The masses did nothing wrong, but almost lost everything due to no fault of their own.

All we have is time, because we have nothing else. We will get out of this life what we spend our time on. As long as we have time and can put one foot in front of the other and one thought together with another we are alive. As long as we are alive we have time. Time is no more than a measurement of how long we have on this planet. Some people get more time than others, but we all get to decide what to do with the time we are given. Therefore, time is the most valuable thing we have by default of being the only thing we have.

Wasting time is the biggest mistake we can make in this life. This does not mean that we make ourselves so busy that we collapse from exhaustion. Not wasting time is about making choices daily to not waste time. Tacticians think in terms of details, but strategists think in terms of big picture. People need to ask themselves whether or not their behaviors benefit their lives. Habits that consume lots of time with no benefit that can be justified is wasting time. Reading benefits the mind and expands the imagination, but watching the nightly propaganda that calls itself news does not!

Americans have so many habits that do not benefit them. People like to say they do not have enough time. Everyone gets twenty four hours a day regardless of what people do with it. Successful people know not to waste this time on useless tasks. Some battles are worth fighting and some are not. Learning to spend time fighting the battles that advance our lives is critical to advancing humanity. Eating due to being bored or lonely is not a good use of time, but going for a walk is! The path to a better life starts within a person's mind. The rest is just a matter of choices once a person has decided to use their time to advance their lives.
